Side Tracker Chatterlures

The patented ChatterLures Multi-Directional SideTracker™ Spreader Bar was developed to give small and medium-sized fishing vessels the benefits of outriggers without requiring additional equipment. The challenge was creating a lure capable of traveling outside the boat’s wake while maintaining stability during trolling. Inventions Unlimited developed and tested dozens of design iterations, using physical water testing and simulations to optimize the wing geometry and adjustable rudder system. The final design generates lift and directs the lure outward, allowing anglers to run more lines and switch from port to starboard in seconds. The SideTracker™ has since sold over 90,000 units.

Convex Golf Interchangeable Putter System

The Convex Golf Putter combines patented convex-face technology with a fully interchangeable platform designed to grow with the golfer. Inventions Unlimited benchmarked 20 leading putters, analyzing more than 20 metrics and conducting golfer testing across feel, grip, alignment, accuracy, and overall performance. These findings helped identify the strongest features to incorporate into the final design. The engineering challenge was creating a premium system that remained highly customizable without sacrificing performance. Golfers can adjust face geometry, weight, lie angle, toe hang, and face balance, even converting the same club from a blade to a mallet, while the convex face helps reduce the effects of face-angle errors.

Dangler by ParWalker

The Dangler by ParWalker is a collapsible beverage holder engineered specifically for golfers who prefer to walk the course. It attaches to golf bags and push carts while keeping drinks upright and accessible during play. The greatest challenge for Inventions Unlimited was preventing beverages from spilling while golfers walked across hills, bumps, and uneven terrain. IU engineered, prototyped, and extensively tested the 6-axis gyroscopic system, refining the ball-joint geometry and tension until the holder could move naturally while keeping the drink level. The result is a compact, collapsible, and stable solution that lets golfers walk the course without worrying about their drink spilling.

Quick Release Paint Roller

The Quick Release Paint Roller eliminates one of painting’s messiest tasks: removing a paint-covered roller by hand. The client came to Inventions Unlimited with the idea but needed a reliable mechanism to make it possible. Our team developed and tested numerous mechanical concepts, including cam systems, bearings, and locking mechanisms, before achieving a smooth and dependable solution. A simple lever securely locks a standard roller cover in place while allowing it to rotate freely and paint up to the edge of a 90-degree wall. When finished, flipping the lever releases the roller cover, allowing it to drop off without ever touching the messy roller.

The Swivel Buttz

The Swivelbutt is an innovative fishing rod system designed to keep the reel, rod, and guides properly aligned while giving anglers greater control when fighting large game fish. The engineering challenge was developing a swivel mechanism strong enough to withstand loads from fish weighing hundreds of pounds while enduring saltwater exposure and the demanding conditions of offshore fishing. Inventions Unlimited engineered and refined a durable locking and swiveling mechanism that delivers strength without sacrificing smooth operation. We also developed an interchangeable system that allows anglers to convert the same unibutt between inline and angled configurations, providing greater versatility and functionality in a single high-performance system.

Cleanroom Indexing Filling Station

Integrated Micro-Chromatography Systems (IMCS) needed to improve the efficiency of a filling process that traditionally required three operators. Inventions Unlimited developed an automated system that reduced the process to a single operator while maintaining precise control throughout production. The system automatically weighs each bottle, indexes it into the filling station, continuously monitors its weight during filling, signals the equipment to stop at the target weight, and advances the completed bottle to the next position. A major engineering challenge was designing a reliable automation system suitable for operation within an ISO Class 7/8 cleanroom environment, requiring careful consideration of materials, contamination control, precision, and repeatability.

Icewalkers

Icewalkers are lightweight, flexible shoe covers designed to provide added traction on icy, snowy, and other slippery surfaces while fitting over a wide range of closed-toe footwear. One of the biggest challenges was developing a material and manufacturing process that provided the needed flexibility, durability, and grip. Inventions Unlimited evaluated multiple mold designs and tested different silicone, latex, and traction-material combinations before finalizing the product. The final design utilized a flexible latex construction with walnut-shell grit incorporated into the bottom surface to improve traction. This combination created a compact, easy-to-use overshoe that could flex naturally with the user’s footwear while maintaining grip and durability.

Creative kicks

Creative Kicks are customizable children’s shoes that allow kids to draw directly on their footwear with washable markers, then wash them clean and create an entirely new design. One of the greatest challenges was developing a shoe that could withstand repeated washing while remaining comfortable, durable, and functional. Inventions Unlimited developed the shoes from the ground up, creating custom molds and heat-press tooling to form the curved toe and other complex geometry. Extensive material, construction, and wash-cycle testing was conducted to ensure the shoes and marker-compatible surfaces survived repeated machine washing. The result combines traditional footwear manufacturing with an interactive, reusable canvas for children’s creativity.

Motorcycle Helmet LED Conversion Kit

The Motorcycle Helmet LED Conversion Kit enhances rider safety by adding bright LED lighting, turn signals, and braking indicators directly to a motorcycle helmet. Inventions Unlimited developed an energy-efficient system capable of producing highly visible lighting while maintaining practical battery life. One of the biggest engineering challenges was creating a method that could synchronize the helmet’s lighting with virtually any motorcycle, regardless of its existing electrical system. IU developed and tested multiple design revisions to achieve reliable communication and performance. The system was also engineered for outdoor use, requiring careful sealing and component selection to protect the electronics from rain, moisture, and everyday riding conditions.

Baby Bottle Nipple

The Medicine Dispensing Bottle Nipple allows parents to administer liquid medicine to infants during their normal feeding routine. A standard medicine syringe connects directly to the nipple, allowing medication to mix with milk as the baby drinks. The greatest challenge for Inventions Unlimited was designing the system around the client’s existing patent while creating a reliable connection between the syringe, nipple, and bottle. IU carefully engineered the internal fluid pathways so medicine could mix proportionally with the milk without disrupting normal feeding. The design also needed to remain food-safe, easy to clean, compatible with standard bottles, and simple for parents to use.

Camera Iris

The Camera Imaging Sensor Shield protects Canon EOS camera sensors from dust and debris by automatically closing an internal iris when the lens is removed and reopening when a lens is installed. The greatest challenge was fitting the mechanism between the camera and lens without significantly affecting focal length or normal camera operation. Inventions Unlimited developed more than 20 iterations to achieve the required compact design. IU also engineered custom PCBs, pogo-pin connections, and a ribbon cable routed around the iris to maintain electrical communication between the camera and lens. The final system successfully combined sensor protection, mechanical operation, and electronic connectivity in an extremely compact package.

TheraStone Pro Hot Stone

The TheraStone Pro is an electronic massage stone designed to provide consistent heat therapy for up to one hour, unlike traditional hot stones that quickly lose heat during use. One of the greatest engineering challenges was maintaining a stable surface temperature while the stone moves across the body, as continuous skin contact rapidly draws heat away. Inventions Unlimited developed an intelligent thermal compensation system that monitors temperature and actively adjusts heat output to counteract this cooling effect. IU also incorporated a high-thermal-mass core, insulation, custom electronics, and temperature sensing to distribute heat efficiently and maintain the selected temperature throughout the massage.

The Ultimate Hitter

The Ultimate Hitter is an automated electronic batting tee designed to launch baseballs, softballs, and wiffle balls into different positions within the strike zone using a wireless remote. Inventions Unlimited overcame the challenge of consistently launching different ball sizes and weights to controlled positions while rapidly resetting for the next pitch. The system required the integration of propulsion, directional control, custom electronics, and wireless communication into a compact platform. IU also engineered the product for demanding outdoor environments, protecting it against water, dust, and sand while making the structure durable enough to withstand repeated use and accidental impacts from a bat.

Razer Laser Guitar

The Razor Lazer™ Light Guitar is an interactive electronic instrument that uses responsive controls, strumming detection, and synchronized LEDs to create a visual musical experience. Inventions Unlimited developed the electronics, firmware, custom PCB, and mechanical components required to bring the concept to life. One of the greatest challenges was creating a custom game engine capable of interpreting the guitar’s inputs with extremely fast feedback so the lighting responds naturally while playing. The system creates new opportunities for musicians, jammers, people learning to play, and deaf or hard-of-hearing users who can experience music through synchronized visual feedback.

Snack Quest Dog Feeder

The Snack Quest is an interactive dog enrichment system designed to keep dogs mentally and physically engaged while their owners are away. The system uses a central home base connected to multiple wireless treat dispensers positioned throughout the home. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing a custom mesh network capable of automatically connecting and coordinating up to 20 feeder stations. When the dog activates the home base, a random feeder produces lights and sounds before dispensing a controlled amount of food. Sensors detect when the reward is eaten, prompting the dog to return to the home base and restart the cycle.

Wave Brush Roller

The most challenging aspect of this project was developing an interchangeable bristle system that was easy for the user to swap while still being strong enough to transfer the torque required to operate directly against the head and hair. The design went through numerous iterations to achieve the proper balance of torque, durability, and ease of use. The final system performs very well, allowing the rotating head to work effectively while supporting different interchangeable bristle materials, including nylon, boar’s hair, and other bristle types. Another significant engineering challenge was making the motorized system water-resistant/waterproof while maintaining the removable rotating mechanism and reliable operation.

The Wave Brush

The Wave Brush is a patent-pending luxury hairbrush designed for thick hair, combining interchangeable nylon and boar’s-hair bristles with vibration, environmental sensing, and automatic stroke counting. Inventions Unlimited developed the electronics and custom circuit board needed to integrate these features into a compact, manufacturable product. One of the greatest challenges was developing the stroke-counting system, which needed to accurately recognize each brushing motion without incorrectly registering normal hand movements. IU also refined the shape and ergonomics to ensure the brush felt comfortable and premium in the user’s hand while developing a secure, easy-to-use magnetic system for quickly changing between different bristle configurations.

Oyster Tray

One of the biggest challenges of this project was developing a compact, environmentally responsible oyster serving tray that could hold up to 12 oysters along with sauces and liquids without leaking, softening, or losing structural integrity. The tray needed to use recyclable or biodegradable molded-fiber materials while remaining food-safe and moisture resistant. Inventions Unlimited also had to optimize the geometry so the oysters were held securely while keeping the overall footprint as small as possible for efficient transportation and storage. Finally, the trays had to stack and nest efficiently, adding another challenge to the geometry and manufacturing design.

Epione X 3 Pelvic Massaging Seat

The EPIONE X 3 Pelvic Massaging Seat combines multiple therapeutic functions into one portable system, including heating, cooling, vibration, massage balls, and rollers for targeted massage. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was integrating these power-intensive mechanical and thermal features into a compact seat that could operate from a rechargeable battery. IU developed the mechanical design, custom electronics, PCB, firmware, and power-management system to efficiently control the motors, heaters, cooling system, and massage functions. The result was a portable, multifunctional massage system capable of providing several forms of therapy from a single compact platform.

Football Head & Neck Protector

The Football Head and Neck Protector is a protective system designed to provide an additional layer of impact protection around a football player’s helmet while integrating with standard shoulder pads. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing the protective enclosure in a way that was strong, lightweight, practical, and cost-effective to manufacture. IU evaluated different materials and manufacturing approaches before developing a design utilizing thermoformed clear polycarbonate. This approach allowed the protective structure to maintain the necessary shape and impact resistance while reducing manufacturing complexity and cost, resulting in a practical design capable of integrating with existing football equipment.

Pickpocket glove

The PikPocket Glove is a versatile synthetic-leather glove featuring a discreet pocket in the palm for storing a hand warmer, money, keys, or other small items. One of the biggest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was creating a glove that could comfortably fit a wide range of hands while maintaining exceptional dexterity. The glove needed to remain thin and flexible enough for users to perform fine tasks, including picking up a dime from a table, without removing it. IU developed and refined the patterns, sizing, material thickness, and integrated pocket to balance comfort, durability, storage, and tactile sensitivity in one practical design.

WinGrow Planter Box

The WinGrow Planter Box is a patented, versatile planter system designed to bring gardening and outdoor activities to windows, walls, and other small spaces. The system supports interchangeable accessories such as planters, bird feeders, bird baths, and birdhouses. One of the biggest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was keeping manufacturing costs low while creating a strong, stable, and durable product. IU developed an adjustable mounting system that allows the WinGrow Planter Box to fit most 28–39-inch double-hung windows without tools, permanent modifications, or damage to the home. The resulting design is easy to install, expandable, customizable, and adaptable to a variety of environments.

Dog Grooming Station

The Adjustable Dog Station is a patent-pending grooming system designed to safely support and stabilize dogs of different sizes during bathing, nail trimming, and other grooming tasks. The station adjusts in height to position the dog comfortably while providing groomers with easier access and greater control. One of the biggest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing a structure strong and stable enough to safely support a dog while gently restraining movement without making the animal uncomfortable. IU engineered an adjustable support and restraint system capable of handling active, wriggling pets while remaining practical for professional grooming environments. The system was also designed for water resistance and easy cleaning.

The Trailer Adaptor

The Trailer Adaptor is a compact, plug-and-play solution designed to easily add backup and auxiliary lighting to boat trailers, utility trailers, and RVs without complicated rewiring. The adaptor connects directly between the vehicle and existing trailer wiring harness, keeping the necessary connections enclosed within a single unit. One of the biggest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing a housing that could be reliably waterproofed while still being practical for 3D printing and small-batch manufacturing. IU refined the housing design, sealing methods, materials, and assembly approach to protect the internal connections from moisture, dust, and outdoor conditions while maintaining a compact, durable, and easy-to-install design.

The Shower Buddy

The Shower Buddy is a compact, collapsible shower stool designed to provide a safer and more comfortable way to shave your legs. Its lightweight and portable design makes it easy to store in small bathrooms or take while traveling. The primary challenge for Inventions Unlimited was balancing strength, stability, weight, and foldability. The stool needed to safely support the user without wobbling or tipping, while remaining lightweight and compact enough to fold away when not in use. IU developed a structure and folding mechanism that achieved this balance while incorporating moisture-resistant materials suitable for repeated use in wet shower environments.

Ear & Nose Cleaner

The Ear and Nose Cleaner is a compact personal hygiene device designed to help remove mucus and debris from the nasal passages and ear canals. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing the cleaning tip. The client wanted a hard, reusable end rather than soft silicone or interchangeable tips, capable of gently scraping and collecting mucus and other debris. IU developed and tested the geometry of the tip and deployment mechanism to balance effective cleaning with controlled operation inside small, sensitive areas. The result was a compact mechanical system designed around simplicity, portability, and effective cleaning.

The Buoy Case

The Buoy Case is a protective phone case designed to keep a smartphone floating and visible if accidentally dropped into a pool, lake, or ocean. Inventions Unlimited developed the case using closed-cell foam and strategically sized air pockets to generate enough buoyancy to support the weight of the phone. One of the greatest challenges was keeping the case as small and slim as possible so the phone remained comfortable and fully usable while still providing enough displacement to float reliably. IU calculated and tested the required air-pocket volume and incorporated a transparent airtight barrier, creating a functional, compact, and stylish floating phone case.

The Hair Key

The Hair Key is a copper hair-styling tool designed to assist with installing sew-in hair extensions, braids, and dreadlocks. The product was developed to combine practical salon functionality with the client’s desire for a distinctive copper construction. One of the primary challenges for Inventions Unlimited was perfecting the size and geometry of the tool. The openings needed to be precisely sized to allow hair to be easily threaded through the Hair Key while remaining comfortable and effective during different styling applications. IU refined the dimensions through prototyping and testing, ultimately producing a metal 3D-printed prototype and identifying a casting process suitable for mass production.

Mango Peeler

The Mango Peeler is a patent-pending kitchen tool designed to peel and score fruit in a single motion, eliminating an extra step when preparing mangos and other thick-skinned fruits. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing the unique blade system. The blades needed to be sharp enough to reliably remove the mango skin while simultaneously scoring the fruit underneath without cutting too deeply. IU developed and refined the blade geometry and rotating mechanism to follow the natural contours of the fruit while maintaining safe, controlled operation. The final design combines 316L stainless steel blades with a sleek, durable, and easy-to-clean form.

The Roll On Buddy

The Roll on Buddy is an adjustable applicator designed to help users independently apply roll-on pain relievers, menthol products, and other topical solutions to hard-to-reach areas of the back. The adjustable handle provides multiple angles for reaching different areas while accommodating a variety of roll-on container sizes. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing the folding joints and locking mechanisms. The handle needed to remain rigid during application while still folding into a slim, compact form for storage and transportation. IU also developed an adjustable holder capable of securely gripping different container shapes and sizes without interfering with normal roll-on application.

Straw Holder Ring

The Straw Holder Ring is a lightweight hydration accessory designed to keep a drinking straw conveniently within reach during running, exercise, and other activities. Users simply insert their straw into the holder and wear the device on their finger for quick access while moving. One of the biggest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing a design that would maintain a secure grip during high-motion activities, including long-distance running and marathons, without becoming uncomfortable. IU refined the geometry and fit to balance grip, comfort, and ease of use while also minimizing the number of components and simplifying the design to keep manufacturing costs as low as possible.

Therapeutic Irrigation Glasses

The Therapeutic Irrigation Glasses are designed to provide controlled saline delivery directly to the eyes through a discreet tubing system integrated into wearable eyewear. The system provides hands-free irrigation and distributes saline from an external reservoir to both eyes for continuous, controlled hydration. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing the fluid-control valve system. The valve needed to reliably control the flow of saline while preventing leaks around the glasses, tubing, and connection points. IU refined the valve geometry, seals, and fluid pathways to create a compact, dependable system that could deliver saline effectively while remaining comfortable and practical for the user to wear.

Arrange This Travel Board Game

The Arrange This Travel Board Game transforms the excitement of planning a trip into an interactive tabletop experience combining strategy, luck, and creativity. Players progress from home to their final destination while selecting trip types, transportation, excursions, and travel items along the way. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was the sheer volume of graphic design required to bring the game to life. With hundreds of cards, each requiring unique imagery, graphics, layouts, and information, maintaining a consistent visual identity was critical. IU developed the extensive card artwork and graphical elements while ensuring the entire game remained cohesive, engaging, easy to understand, and ready for production.

Orchid Planter

The Clear Orchid Planter is designed to recreate the natural growing conditions orchids need to remain healthy long after their initial blooms fade. Its transparent construction and ventilation openings provide light and airflow to the roots, while a weighted base improves stability and an integrated soaking system simplifies watering and fertilizing. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing a practical method for small-batch manufacturing truly clear planters while maintaining the required geometry and functionality. IU refined the fabrication process to achieve the desired transparency and quality without requiring mass-production tooling, resulting in a simple, effective planter designed to make successful orchid care easier.

Tight Reach Wrench

The Tight Reach Wrench is a compact, modular hand tool designed to reach fasteners in confined spaces where traditional wrenches and sockets cannot operate effectively. Its interchangeable socket inserts accommodate a wide range of bolt sizes while a retaining system keeps each insert securely positioned during use. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing a design that was industrial-strength while remaining extremely compact. IU refined the geometry, materials, socket interfaces, and retention mechanism to minimize the wrench’s overall profile without sacrificing strength or usability. The result is a durable, versatile tool capable of providing reliable performance in extremely tight working environments.

Rounded Golf Putter

The Rounded Face and Tail Putter is designed to improve putting consistency, control, and forgiveness through a uniquely curved face and stabilizing tail geometry. Available in two configurations, the putter supports both face-balanced and toe-hang setups while maintaining adjustable lie and loft characteristics for different putting styles. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was maintaining the client’s distinctive design while keeping the entire putter head under 390 grams. IU carefully refined the geometry, material distribution, and internal features to remove unnecessary mass without sacrificing balance, strength, or performance. The result is a lightweight, precisely balanced putter that preserves the client’s original vision.

Bookmark LED

The LED Bookmark is an ultra-thin reading light designed to illuminate individual lines of text while also functioning as a traditional bookmark. Users can move the device down the page as they read and adjust the lighting for comfortable use in dark or low-light environments. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was keeping the device as thin as possible while integrating the LEDs, power source, wiring, and controls. IU engineered a compact electronic system that provides adjustable, focused illumination without adding unnecessary bulk, allowing the product to remain comfortably between book pages while providing effective line-by-line lighting.

Ozone Generator

The BreatheSafe Ozone Generator is a high-performance air purification system designed to combine ozone generation, UVC treatment, carbon filtration, motion sensing, and intelligent controls into a compact unit. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was reducing manufacturing costs while maintaining performance and functionality. IU refined the housing, components, and manufacturing methods to improve production readiness. IU also developed the custom PCB, firmware, and communication architecture required for mobile app connectivity and testing. Additionally, IU designed a custom fan from scratch to achieve the specific CFM and airflow requirements while fitting within the compact enclosure.

0’Zone Ice Machine

The 0’Zone Ice Machine is an all-in-one commercial system designed to produce up to 106 pounds of ice per day while incorporating a built-in multispeed blender for smoothies, frozen drinks, and food preparation. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was achieving the required high-volume ice production while integrating a powerful blender into a single compact machine. The combination of refrigeration, ice production, and blending generated significant heat, making thermal management and overheating major engineering challenges. IU refined the cooling, airflow, component layout, and overall system design to resolve these issues and successfully create a reliable, high-capacity machine capable of performing both functions.

Autistic Breathing Tool

The BioBesoothe is a compact biofeedback breathing device designed to encourage controlled breathing by detecting a user’s exhale and providing engaging visual feedback. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was packaging the sensing technology into a compact, highly durable, and waterproof enclosure. The device needed to withstand significant drops while protecting its internal electronics from water and moisture. The most difficult engineering challenge was waterproofing the airflow sensor, since it must remain exposed to the user’s breath to function while preventing moisture from entering the electronics. IU developed and tested specialized sealing and airflow solutions to achieve both reliable breath detection and environmental protection.

Gaming Mouse

One of the most challenging aspects of developing the SoloQ Gaming Mouse was achieving its demanding performance specifications while allowing the mouse to switch seamlessly and nearly instantaneously between wired and wireless operation. The original requirement called for a minimum 2,000 Hz polling rate to provide the ultra-low latency needed for competitive gaming. Achieving this level of performance wirelessly proved especially difficult due to the communication speed, firmware, and hardware requirements. Through extensive PCB, firmware, and wireless optimization, Inventions Unlimited was ultimately able to achieve an impressive 8,000 Hz wireless polling rate, four times the original minimum requirement, while maintaining both wired USB-C and wireless connectivity.

The Collectable Case

One of the most challenging aspects of this project was developing the wireless RGB control interface. Rather than requiring users to download a traditional app, the system was designed around a private browser-based dashboard accessible from a phone, tablet, or computer. When a user connects to the device, the interface automatically opens, providing immediate control over the RGB lighting, including color, brightness, and lighting effects. Developing a seamless connection between the hardware, firmware, wireless network, and browser interface required significant engineering and testing. The result was an intuitive, platform-independent control system that eliminates the need for a dedicated application.

Interchangeable Cupcake Rack

The Interchangeable Cupcake Rack is a versatile baking system designed with removable, stackable cups that allow bakers to quickly switch between different baked goods, including cupcakes, muffin tops, and Bundt-style cakes. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was engineering the clicking and locking mechanism that securely attaches each interchangeable cup to the rack while still allowing quick removal. Developing a mechanism that was reliable, easy to operate, heat-resistant, and practical for manufacturing required extensive design refinement. IU optimized the locking geometry and cup interface to create a durable, manufacturable system that provides secure attachment while maintaining the versatility of interchangeable baking cups.

Cornhole Scoreboard

The Cornhole Scorekeeper is an electronic scoring system designed to make tracking scores easier for casual games, leagues, and large tournaments. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was achieving sufficient battery life for the seven-segment displays while keeping scores bright and visible throughout extended gameplay. IU optimized the electronics and power consumption to increase operating time without sacrificing visibility. Another major challenge was developing a wireless mesh network capable of connecting scorekeepers from multiple simultaneous cornhole games. IU engineered the system so scores from multiple boards could communicate wirelessly and feed into a centralized tournament dashboard for real-time score tracking and event management.

Soap Loofah

The 2-in-1 Loofah combines a traditional shower loofah and bar of soap into one convenient product, allowing users to exfoliate and lather without carrying separate bathing products. The soap is contained within an internal cavity designed to keep it secure while still allowing consistent lathering during use. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was integrating the soap inside the loofah while maintaining durability and manufacturability. Because the client had previously worked with another development firm, IU was constrained by the existing design. IU refined the fabrication and assembly process within those limitations to create a functional, production-ready solution.

Track starter system

The Level One Starting Blocks were designed as a high-performance sprint training system with a focus on adjustability and universal compatibility. One of the most challenging aspects of the project was developing an attachment mechanism capable of securely fitting a wide variety of standard spine/center rails despite differences in rail dimensions and groove profiles. At the same time, the pedal system needed to remain structurally rigid under high-impact use while providing eight adjustable positions ranging from 20° to 60° to accommodate different athletes and starting techniques. Balancing universal rail compatibility, adjustability, strength, and ease of use made this a particularly challenging mechanical design.

Interchangeable license plate cover

The Interchangeable License Plate Cover gives vehicle owners a simple way to personalize their car or motorcycle with quickly swappable designs for sports teams, holidays, hobbies, and custom artwork. The system uses a permanent base frame with interchangeable covers that can be easily removed and replaced by the user. One of the biggest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was designing the frame around DMV and vehicle license plate requirements while keeping the plate visible and securely mounted. IU also developed the interchangeable cover system and explored manufacturing methods for producing multi-color graphics and detailed artwork while ensuring each cover remained secure, durable, UV-resistant, and easy to swap.

Dog Food and Water Cooler

The Dog Food and Water Cooler presented a significant engineering challenge because of the number of features and internal compartments that needed to be incorporated into a single insulated cooler. The design includes separate food and water storage, a built-in water dispensing system, collapsible bowls, storage compartments, dual lids, wheels, and a handle. The most difficult aspect was designing these complex cavities and features while ensuring the cooler could still be efficiently rotationally molded for mass production. This required careful consideration of wall thicknesses, internal geometry, mold accessibility, insulation space, and assembly so the product could maintain its functionality without creating features that would be impractical or prohibitively expensive to manufacture.

Toddler Bunk Bed

The most challenging aspect of this project was designing a bunk bed that is safe for toddlers while remaining faithful to the client’s patented design. The bed incorporates patented safety features specifically intended to reduce nighttime falls while maintaining accessible entry and exit for young children. The engineering process required balancing the patent-defined geometry and functionality with structural strength, stability, guardrail protection, safe climbing access, and appropriate dimensions for toddlers. This made the project particularly challenging because improvements to safety and manufacturability had to be made without compromising the key features and intent of the client’s existing patent.

Duck Decoy Spool Holder

The most challenging aspect of this project was designing an extremely cost-effective spool system that could be manufactured as two identical, symmetrical components and easily assembled into a complete spool. The design needed to securely organize multiple decoy cables while remaining lightweight, durable, and suitable for outdoor use. By using the same geometry for both halves, the design minimizes unique parts, simplifies assembly, and makes the spool well suited for both low-volume 3D printing and high-volume injection molding, helping reduce tooling, manufacturing, and inventory costs.

Traffic Light Product

The most challenging aspect of the Weader Light project was designing a system that could retrofit around existing traffic lights and warning signs without requiring major modifications to existing infrastructure. The design needed to be compact, weatherproof, durable, and simple for municipalities to install while remaining compatible with a variety of existing traffic-signal configurations. An additional challenge was integrating wireless communication between the traffic light and advance warning sign while meeting applicable FCC requirements for wireless emissions and interference.

Pet Potty-O

The most challenging aspect of the Potty-O project was creating a low-cost, lightweight system that could securely attach to existing RVs without causing structural damage. The unit needed to provide small- to medium-sized pets with a safe outdoor space where they could see outside and relieve themselves while their owners were away hiking or exploring. At the same time, the design had to be durable, weather-resistant, easy to install, and compatible with a wide range of RVs. A major engineering challenge was also developing a collapsible structure that provided adequate space when deployed but folded compactly against the RV for travel.

Humvee Steer Assist

The most challenging aspect of this project was designing a steering wheel that could function like a conventional steering wheel while simultaneously controlling the vehicle’s acceleration and braking through a twisting motion. The driver could twist the upper or lower portion of the wheel in one direction to accelerate and the opposite direction to slow or brake, while still turning the entire wheel normally to steer. The system required an encoder to precisely detect these inputs and translate them into responsive control of the throttle and brake with little to no perceptible lag.

Acupressure Device Migraine Magician

The Migraine Pressure Point Relief device is a portable acupressure system designed to apply targeted pressure to key points on the hand or foot to help relieve migraine symptoms. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was developing the adjustable locking and quick-release mechanism. The pressure knobs needed to tighten securely enough to maintain consistent pressure, while allowing the user to release the device quickly and comfortably. Even more challenging, the system needed to retain the user’s previous pressure and position settings, allowing it to be removed and reapplied without requiring readjustment each time. This required extensive mechanical design and testing.

Airlight

The AirLight is a compact air-filter monitoring device that alerts homeowners when their HVAC filter needs to be replaced. The device clips around a standard residential air filter and measures changes in the amount of light passing through the filter as dust and debris accumulate. One of the greatest challenges for Inventions Unlimited was making the device thin enough to fit within a wide variety of existing filter compartments without interfering with installation or airflow. IU also spent weeks testing and calibrating the optical sensor and refining the algorithm to reliably interpret light levels and determine when the filter is dirty and requires replacement.

Beach anchor

The Beach Anchor is a compact, portable anchoring system designed to securely hold umbrellas, tents, flags, and other equipment in sandy environments. Unlike traditional screw-in anchors, it features an integrated slide-hammer mechanism that drives a spike directly into the sand for fast, secure installation without digging or additional tools. Its adjustable connection accommodates various equipment sizes, while the lightweight, disassemblable design simplifies transportation and storage. A key engineering challenge was developing a durable plastic structure capable of withstanding repeated impact without breaking, while integrating the hammer mechanism and determining the proper hammer weight and mass to achieve effective anchoring performance.

Big gulp

The patent-pending Liquid Fish Bait Container is designed to make recharging artificial bait with scent and flavor faster and easier while fishing. The container allows bait to be placed directly into the liquid without removing it from the hook. A one-handed lid provides quick access while keeping the angler’s other hand free. Integrated magnets securely hold the lid closed to help prevent spills as the boat moves, while additional magnets secure the container to compatible boat surfaces. Developed for an avid fisherman, the design provides a convenient, secure, and efficient solution for refreshing bait while on the water.

Cake cutter

This custom food cutting tool was designed to quickly and consistently cut cakes, cookies, pasta, bread, thin fruits, vegetables, and other soft foods. Originally developed for a bakery owner who needed perfectly sized cake squares for individual cups, the device uses thin plastic cutting edges for safe, efficient operation. Interchangeable cutting shapes allow users to create different sizes and designs for various foods. Once cut, the food remains securely inside the tool until needed. A simple button and plunger mechanism then releases the portion directly into a container, helping reduce handling, improve consistency, and significantly speed up food preparation.

Guitar

We designed and fabricated a custom electric guitar inspired by the iconic Fender Stratocaster and Parker Fly. Our client, an avid guitar player, had a vision for a unique instrument that combined classic styling with modern design and performance. Inventions Unlimited transformed that vision into a fully functional guitar, developing the body in CAD, 3D printing the custom body, and completing the final assembly with a high-end Lollar Sixty-Four pickup set. One of the greatest engineering challenges was achieving the proper body geometry, neck and fretboard spacing, pickup positioning, and overall ergonomics while ensuring the finished guitar met the performance expectations of an experienced musician.

Stove Mate is a compact, heat-resistant kitchen organizer designed to keep pot lids, cooking utensils, and other essential tools organized and accessible during meal preparation. The system features adjustable pot-lid hooks, utensil hanging hooks, an adjustable top shelf, and a removable drip tray to capture liquids and debris. Designed for use on or near the stovetop, Stove Mate helps reduce countertop clutter while keeping frequently used cooking tools within easy reach. The Mobile Interactive Kiosk Mount is a custom bracket system designed to securely attach a large interactive kiosk to a golf cart for safe operation while stationary or in motion. The adjustable design incorporates telescopic brackets, allowing the kiosk to tilt while accommodating different golf cart configurations. Aluminum construction provides strength without excessive weight, while vibration dampeners help absorb shocks and protect the kiosk during transportation. A key engineering challenge was developing a mounting system capable of supporting the heavy kiosk while minimizing unwanted movement, maintaining stability, and allowing the assembly to be disassembled for shipping and installation.
